A 7 lesson course focusing on the varied styles of artists such as Matisse, Thiebaud, Seurat, Audubon, O’Keeffe, Klee, & Van Gogh. An excellent choice to explore many varied techniques and mediums in one course.

Who This Course Is For ?
Everyone ages 12 and up - We have options for both kids & adults to attend!
Artists who want to learn from Master Artists to apply these strategies & innovations to their own artwork.
Everyone from beginners to more experienced artists. Each person will be working on their own creation. You’ll be met in this course exactly where you are so you’ll learn much from these lessons.
Dates & Times
Option 1: Tuesday Mornings from 10 am to 12 noon - October 6, 13, 20, 27; November 3, 10, 17.
Option 2: Thursday Afternoons from 4 pm to 6 pm - October 1, 8, 15, 22; November 5, 12, 19.
Option 3: Saturday Mornings from 10 am to 12 noon - October 3, 10, 17, 24; November 7, 14, 21.
Lesson 1: Henri Matisse
You will use collage to create an inviting landscape.
You will learn to use the concepts of positive and negative space to create unique, lively shapes that mirror shapes from nature.

Lesson 2: Wayne Thiebaud
You will choose a favorite object to illustrate such a a cupcake, a donut, or even a pencil.
This object will be used to set up in a repeated format and depicted with bright and varied colors.

Lesson 3: Georges Seurat
You will explore the magic of how primary colors work together to create new colors.
Create a mini painting using Georges Seurat’s innovation of pointalism to create your image.

Lesson 4: John James Audubon
You will learn to see and use basic shapes to form the structure of the bird you choose to illustrate.
Once the drawing is constructed you will add details, color and a background.

Lesson 5: Georgia O’Keeffe
You will hold a flower in your hand and really look at it, and it will be your world for several moments.
From there you will select an interesting portion of the flower to draw and depict in your own unique, creative way.

Lesson 6: Paul Klee
Bring to mind a cherished memory or a life event you hope to experience.
You will bring these images to life using watercolor painting and playful drawings!

Lesson 7: Vincent Van Gogh
You will explore creative ways to use color and brush strokes to create the feeling of a beautiful scene.
You will use a visual image (your own photograph or an image that will be provided for you) to create a landscape.
